Electric Prices

The number one reason for our higher electric bills is AI. Utilities make deals with tech companies where they get discounts and regular people have to pay the difference. We are subsidizing tech companies! This price increase shows up as increases in the supply section of our bill because of the higher prices for bidding for electricity and in the delivery section because we have to pay for the additional power plants. My opponent as the former chair of the energy and commerce committee and current ranking member (highest ranking member of the minority party) has been silent on this issue. We suspect it has to do with the $184,000 he has received from utility companies so far during the current election cycle.

The solution to this issue is described in the video below. We need to characterize tech companies in a different consumer class so that they are required to pay for all the electricty that they use.
